Apex Supply Chain Technologies are experts in automated point-of-use dispensing and supply chain technologies,

like self-serve lockers, ITSM solutions, vending machines, and tool control. Their products provide

tailored, scalable solutions for both hardware and software needs.

The Challenge

Apex came to Unitech looking for an easy to use, efficient barcode scanner solution that would mesh easily

with their existing automated Locker Systems. These lockers allow employees to check in and

check out valuable equipment with just the swipe of a badge.

The Solution

Unitech offered Apex a variety of devices to test, and after that testing, they chose three models that fit their needs.

Apex decided on two gun-grip scanners, the MS320 and MS842. They also chose the FC75, a compact presentation

scanner for hands-free scanning. These scanners fit perfectly into their lockers and made it simple

for users to check out or pay for items in the lockers.

As Apex used the devices, they realized they needed a specialized scanner cable connection. At first, they cut cables to

fit their lockers' input ports, but it was costing them a great deal of time. Unitech worked with

Apex to create customized cables, saving them time and money.

Working with Unitech provided Apex with high-quality devices and excellent customer service to help them make

the most of their devices, at a much lower cost than that of competing tier one brands.
