Appearance:
Excessive localized wear that leaves a flat spot across the tread.

Probable Cause:
Improper wheel balance or may also occur when the driver locks the brakes during a panic-type stop.

Appearance:
The tread exhibits “feathered” wear on one side of the tire.

Probable Cause:
Improper toe setting, which causes the tire to continuously scuff.
