Imperial Trading is a wholesale supplier for convenience stores – they carry over 10,000 products for the grab-and-go

industry such as snacks, groceries, deli items, frozen foods, beverages, and health, hygiene, and beauty needs.

In addition to providing convenience store items, their customer-centric business model offers store layout

designs, retail analytics, and detailed food service programs to independent and big box store chains.

The Challenge

Before working with Unitech, Imperial Trading was using older technology for inventory and supply ordering, and
wanted to update their devices. They needed a reliable device to log and track orders and monitor inventory.

The Solution

Imperial Trading contacted the software maker and reseller Velociti to demo some Unitech products.

The grocery goods distributor was impressed by the high performance scan engines, quality materials,

and lower price point compared to others. In 2015, they ordered 200+ units of the PA700 rugged

mobile computer; an Android device equipped with 4.7” of screen real estate, a 1.5 GHz dual core

processor, and an integrated barcode scanner. They have since upgraded and are currently using

our Android PA720, one of the newest members of the Unitech line of mobile computers.

It runs on a faster quad core processor, is outfitted with a 1D/2D barcode scanner, and

features a 12-hour battery life with a hot swappable battery.
