In 1945, WAXIE Sanitary Supply started humbly with two brothers; Harry and
Morris Wax, selling and delivering sanitary and janitorial supplies to local
companies in San Diego, California. Today, WAXIE is still family-owned and has
grown to over 800 employees with distribution facilities all over the United States.

The Challenge

The cleaning supplies giant wanted a more efficient way to enter customer orders
into their specialized system. They were recording orders by hand and found
it difficult to work with speed and accuracy. They wanted a wireless barcode
scanner to eliminate human error and increase productivity.

The Solution

Unitech’s US headquarters are located in Cypress, California which is just a
county away from WAXIE’s main headquarters in San Diego. This was a huge
plus for the supplier as service and support is just a phone call or short drive
away. A Unitech sale rep issued a quote for our MS926 companion scanner and
drove to their San Diego office the next day. The purchase order for the

scanners was signed in the first meeting.

The MS926 is a slim, handheld device that pairs to a computer, tablet, or smart
phone via Bluetooth. It scans all 1D and 2D barcodes and offers a full-shift
battery life from a single charge.

The cleaning goods supplier liked the ability to scan barcodes in the warehouse
then batch upload to computers in the office for simple data collection. WAXIE
