The operating range is within about 2.3 feet (70 cm) of the handles of the driver’s door, front passenger door and tailgate.
If the FAST KEY is within the operating range, even a person not carrying the FAST key can lock and unlock the doors or the tailgate by operating the driver’s door, front passenger door or tailgate.
• Only the doors and the tailgate that detect the FAST key can be locked and unlocked.
• The system may not operate if the FAST key is too close to the windshield, door windows or tailgate.
• Even if the FAST key is within about 2.3 feet (70cm) of the handles of the driver’s door, front passenger door or tailgate, the system may not operate if the key is close to the ground or in a high position.
FAST key operation can be modifi ed to enable only the locking and unlocking of the doors and tailgate, enable only the starting of the engine, or deactivate the FAST key.
When the battery of the FAST key becomes discharged or there are strong electromagnetic waves or radio frequencies in the area, the operating range could decrease or operations could become unstable. Battery life is about 1-3 years, depending on usage conditions.
